Dr. Douglas Meuser joins Personalized Primary Care (PPC) with
a 17 year history of patient-centered service in the greater Orlando
area. After arriving in 1989, he practiced for 9 years as a
community primary care physician. Since joining the Family
Medicine faculty at Florida Hospital in 1998, he has taught and practiced
the concepts of patient-centered care and evidence-based medicine. “Patient
needs and concerns come first. After my patient and I know
what those needs are, we can take the best medical information and
use it for optimal health. Working with Dr. Scelfo at PPC
allows me to continue to practice the ideals of personalized patient
care on a day-by-day basis.”
For the past 5 years, Dr. Meuser has received
the “Best
Doctor” award for his patient care, as featured in Orlando
Magazine. Twice he received the Florida Hospital Faculty of the
Year award for his residency training work. He is currently
Assistant Clinical Professor of Family Medicine with the Florida
State University College of Medicine.
He is a native of Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from
St. Olaf College, he received his medical degree from Ohio State
University with honors. His post-graduate training was completed
at the University of Florida in Family Medicine. In 1999,
he earned a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine
and is currently primary-care team physician for the University
of Central Florida Athletics, Winter Park High School, and the
Citrus Bowl. Dr. Meuser is an active member of the American
Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), Florida Academy of Family
Physicians (FAFP), American Medical Society of Sports Medicine
(AMSSM), Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society, and an
instructor for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). He
uses his free time for family activities with his wife and daughter.
