Frequently Asked Questions for
Personalized Primary Care
Q. What
motivated Dr. Scelfo to open this practice?
A. I
felt unsettled with the care that I was able to provide in
a traditional practice setting. I knew that I could adequately
and appropriately treat my patient’s
medical concerns within the traditional setting however, I also
knew that I was not able to council and educate my patients on
those issues and involve them or address all other aspects of their healthcare needs.
Q. Why
the Celebration area?
A. Celebration was chosen due
to the world class hospital with which Dr. Scelfo already had an
excellent working relationship and the priority that the town
residents place on their health.
Q. Do
you accept insurance?
A. Yes, we are participating
providers for some insurance plans. This information can
change so please contact our office at (407) 566-2454 or email
at officemgr@personalizedprimarycare.com for
your insurance plan information. Please note - The membership
fee is not covered through most insurance companies. This fee
is an out of pocket expense to the patient.
Q. Do
I still have to pay my copays, deductibles and/or coinsurance
in addition to the membership fee?
A. Your initial
90-minute visit and one subsequent visit specifically focused on
fitness are included in your membership fee. Any other
visits throughout the year are billed to your insurance company
and you are responsible for any copays, deductibles and/or
coinsurance.
Q. Why
do children under the age of two have a higher membership fee?
A. Greater
attention needs to be placed on newborns and infants with more
time spent educating new parents.
Q. Is
my membership covered by my insurance?
A. Generally,
the membership is not covered by insurance. Some
executive programs will
pay for the membership fee. Please check with your Employee Benefits
Program to see if they cover this type of membership.
Q. Is
this practice appropriate for healthy people who do not visit
the doctor often?
A. The common element of all our
patients is their priority on health. Our patients want to be
involved in their health care decisions and understand their
goals and the steps it takes to get to those goals, regardless
of the frequency of visits.
Q. Are
there any other practices like PPC and where are they located?
A. We
are the first membership practice in the Central Florida area;
however there are several similar practices throughout the country,
specifically in South Florida and on the west coast of the United
States.
Q. Can
I meet with Dr. Scelfo / Dr. Meuser before joining the practice?
A. Yes,
you can schedule a free 15-minute consultation and personally
meet with Dr. Scelfo prior to joining the practice.
